So much for actually caring about my fantasy draft this go ’round. Somehow I got the message that the Hlog draft started at 7 pm my time, and it was really 6 pm. Needless to say, I’m now trying to trade Hossa away and figure out who will take Kovalchuck, as there’s almost no way I can deal with watching either of them for an entire season.

Sure, if you were gonna play out and out manly fantasy hockey, you’d keep them, as fantasy hockey is supposed to be purely a numbers game. But if you play like a woman, I’m realizing from doing thesis research, you’re less likely to care only about the numbers a guy is putting up. Because I don’t really know much about any of the people I wound up with, and those I do know I dislike, I have very little motivation to care about my fantasy team. If I didn’t watch that team before, I’m not gonna watch them just because some dude with a high draft number’s on my team.

Of course, I’m also in the process of trying to waiver/add Eric Fehr and Milan Lucic. I figure Fehr and Loosh might just make me care enough to keep playing. But Hossa, man, that little Benedict Arnold’s just a deal breaker.

Anyone have a Brooks Orpik or a Colby Armstrong for sale?
