From Capitals Insider:
Semin, who is nursing an undisclosed minor injury, will be replaced in the lineup by Jay Beagle. Beagle, 23, will become the seventh player to make his NHL debut for the Caps this season.
“He’s a big guy, he’s physical, he finishes checks, and you’re on the road where you usually have to be a little more physical because the home team is more physical,” Boudreau said.
Ask and ye shall recieve, eh?
From what I hear, our boy acquitted himself pretty well. In 7:41 of ice time (only 10 seconds less than Brashear,) he managed 3 shots on goal, 2 hits, and 2 won faceoffs. Keep it up, Beags! Make them believe they need to keep you up there in Clark’s place.
Also, let’s hear it for a Fehr goal AND assist in the game tonight. Even through the loss, it was a great game for previously semi-underrated guys to come out and say something.
Aaaaaand, in Teka’s Favorite Bears Wierd Coincidence Land, both Andrew Gordon and Jay Beagle made their NHL debuts against the Rangers at MSG this season. Sadly, we can’t complete the trifecta with Oskar Osala, as he debuted in Verizon Center against the Bruins.
